I Don’t Know Where It Comes From

The third single from Carnival of Light was released both as this edited version of the album’s closing track and also as part of a Remix EP.

This single edit was released as part of a 4-track EP that featured the band’s live set from Creation Records 10th Anniversary show at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1994. The set was a short acoustic set featuring 4 songs but in order to feature the whole set on the EP whilst staying in line with the UK Singles Chart rules at the time, the opening track of the set (Rolling Thunder) is not listed and is edited as if it were an intro to Drive Blind. For the version of How Does It Feel To Feel?, Ride were joined on stage by The Creation who wrote and recorded the original version in the 60s.

The single was also released on Cassette Single with Twisterella on the B-side.

The band photos on the cover were by Tom Sheehan and Catherine Catherine Vercheval.

Details

The single edit of I Don’t Know Where It Comes From also featured on the Japanese-only compilation Cosmic Carnival along with the B-sides from the Birdman and How Does It Feel To Feel? EPs, and all three tracks from the I Don’t Know Where It Comes From remixes EP.
